The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has dispatched a high-level team to Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, to address potential cyber threats in anticipation of the Ram Temple's inauguration on January 22. The joint team comprises officials from MHA's Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITy), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), and cyber experts.

This proactive measure follows alerts issued by the Union Home Ministry's cyber security wing, cautioning citizens about "malicious mobile applications" disseminated via WhatsApp, posing risks related to VIP entry to the Ayodhya temple.

The cyber security team aims to monitor activities of cyber criminals who may exploit the historic event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the global anticipation for the Ram temple consecration ceremony and commenced an 11-day 'anusthan' (special ritual) ahead of the inauguration.

The ceremony, set to be attended by PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other dignitaries, will witness the participation of thousands of seers, including families of the laborers involved in constructing the temple. The guest list of over 7,000 includes Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, and industrialists invited by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust.
